News of the South HARARE – In a bid for inclusiveness and transparency, an indigenous church organization continues to grow in leaps and bounds reaching as far as the remote areas of Zimbabwe.
Federation of Indigenous Churches of Zimbabwe which is led by Bishop Dr Sydney Mabhiza is growing in membership as they try to include every indigenous church in Zimbabwe foster transparency on how they contact their work.
A local church in Inyati Minie in Datata Village, ‘Sangano RaMwari Apostolic Church’ led by Bishop Palimu Sibanda Shumba joined the federation in a colourful event last week.
The event was followed by ordination of the man of God to be a bishop under the FICZ by Dr Bishop Mabhiza.
He then received a certificate of acceptance and one that recognise the church as part of the federation family.
Bishop Palimu Sibanda-Shumba could not hold tears of joy back as he thanked the delegation and accepted certificates from FICZ members who had come with the president of the organisation.
“I want to thank everyone here, and mostl importantly the president and the entire FICZ family for accepting us into the federation,” he said to the ululation of more than a hundred congregants
The event was graced by local traditional leaders, heads of schools, churches leaders from different religions and congregants from different assemblies as they witnessed their own being ordained.
The church’s involment of being part of the federation will go a long way as they will now be able to acquire and apply for land from government because they are now a recognised church in Zimbabwe, the secretary general Rev Tsine said.
Reverend Tsine commended the church and urged other indigenous churches to come and join the federation as it will help in a lot of things.
