Harare, Zimbabwe. (News of The South) -Facing intensifying protest action across Zimbabwe, the Mugabe regime has stepped up its vicious crackdown on activists, resorting yet again to intimidation brutality and abduction.

Memory Mukorera a courageous pro-democracy activist, escaped death by a whisker on the night of November 28, 2016 when unknown men tried to abduct her because of her influence in mobilising youths for a nationwide shutdown, a strike planned to protest on the introduction of bond notes by the government.

Memory was walking on his way home when a twin-cab with no registration stopped her, she refused two boys jumped out of the vehicle tried to force her in the car which she forcefully resisted, overpowered the vicious men and ran away unharmed.

Memory has been recieving death threats Since that day and she has always been on the run with her life.

The courage and tenacity of young woman like Memory Mukorera is all the more remarkable when one realises just how much she has endured due to her commitment to restoring democracy and human rights in Zimbabwe.

Memory is a member of the Zimbabwe People First, a party which was launched early this year by former vice president Joyce Mukuru to challenge President Mugabe’s corrupt, incompetent and increasingly unpopular government and its mismanagement of the economy.
