President Mnangagwa has fired Energy and Power Development Minister Fortune Chasi and replaced him with MP Soda Zhemu
Zhemu is the MP for Muzarabani North and his appointment is with immediate effect.
Chief Secretary to the Presidential and Cabinet Dr Misheck Sibanda said Chasi has been fired for failing to perform according to the expectations of the appointing authority.
Chasi has been involved in a boardroom brawl with ZESA Holdings Chairman Gata as they accused each other of corruption.
The friction between them could have triggered the fall of Chasi.
The President has also appointed Dr. Anxious Jongwe Masuka as Lands, Agriculture, Water and Rural Resettlement Minister following the death of Parrence Shiri last month.
Dr. Masuka is a holder of a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Zimbabwe and has experience in agriculture and research.
