30,000 Egyptian football fans will cheer the Pharoahs in their second leg of the World Cup play off against Ghana next month, the Egyptian Football Association has announced.
The Pharoahs are seeking to overturn the 6-1 deficit suffered at the hands of Ghana in Accra last week. Egypt will play host to The Black Stars at the El Defea El Gawi stadia next month.
“The Ministry of Defence have okayed the 30,000 fans and we will start preparing the match tickets soon,” said EFA spokesman Azmy Megahed.
Initially Ghana had requested the match to be moved out of Egypt citing security reasons, but the Egyptian Minister of sports Taher Abu Zaied flatly denounced this.
“Egypt will start to prepare for the Ghana match on November 11 in Cairo. Al Ahly’s players will join the camp after they end their African Champions League final match. Finally the foreign based players will join on November 14 Azmey added.
Egypt are getting into the match with the knowledge that they should score 5 goals to qualify. The second leg in Cairo is a do or die for the Pharoahs.
