Harare, Zimbabwe (News of The South) – It is noteworthy that out of 416 tested cases on 7 September 2020, 182 tested positive. In light of this evidence opening of schools would be suicidal. As Ptuz we continue to urge Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education to put reason before chola. Opening of schools will lead to epidemiological carnage and is therefore suicidal.
It is advisable for the gvt to open churches, beerhalls and other gatherings before experimenting with school pupils. It is evident gvt has no capacity to test millions of students, 136 000 teachers and 50 000 ancillary staff in less than a week’s time.
Worse still, all teachers have tested positive to poverty and are therefore incapacitated to report for work. Teachers would not take lightly gvt attempt to decimate them and pupils and will be left with no option except to guarantee their safety and confirm their poverty by failing to report for work.
To be forewarned is to be forearmed. The health, safety and welfare of teachers and pupils come first.
