joining fee for the high density and will continue to pay $90 monthly installments for ten years. Those in the medium density will pay $120 per month and $150 will be paid by those in the low density” said Veterai.

Veterai who is also the Zimbabwe Sugarcane Development Association Chairman said Chiredzi aims at attaining city whilst becoming Masvingo Province’s economic capital city as it houses the country’s most viable sugar industry.

“We call this a critical mass and our target is ten houses per month. We want Chiredzi to have some up market suburbs just like what we see in other towns and cities. “We learnt this model from cooperatives in Harare and we have got the real socialist ideas. This project will employ all the youths in Chiredzi, we have so many builders, carpenters and brick moulders who are unemployed. We have just began a skills inventory and we are urging all the people in Masvingo to come forward and show us what skills they have because we want to develop our nation guided by ZimAsset,” said Veterai.
