(News of The South) – Since the onset of the deadly pandemic, everyone around the world has been looking for ways to keep themselves safe and even in the business sector, transportation officials have been working on different ways to keep their passengers and crew safe.
On November 25, the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) released new guidelines for the country’s airline industry, which it oversees.
The document titled Technical Guidelines for Epidemic Prevention and Control for Airlines, Sixth Edition, contains advice about the best hygiene practices to carry out on aircraft and in airports.
In the section regarding personal protective equipment, the CAAC recommends that when flying in and out of high-risk areas with infection rates over 500 per 100 000 residents, flight attendants wear medical masks, double-layer disposable medical gloves, goggles, disposable hats, disposable protective clothing, and disposable shoe covers.
The most shocking part about the new guidelines which has caught everyone eye reads,
“It is recommended that cabin crew members wear disposable diapers and avoid using the lavatories barring special circumstances to avoid infection risks,” the manual says.
For the whole of this year, the airline industry suffered a tremendous blow throughout the pandemic as travel restrictions have been tightened. All borders were closed and all trips cancelled leading businesses on zero.
The document further advised flight attendants to avoid using the airplane lavatories since there have been incidents in the past of passengers contracting Covid-19 while aboard.
As everyone awaits for the covid-19 vaccine, we are encouraged to keep following the restrictive measures provided as a way of reducing the continuous spread of the virus.
