Harare, Zimbabwe. (News Of The South) – The Global HIV Vaccine Enterprise will on 17 to 20 October 2016 host an HIV Research for Prevention, Partnering for Prevention (HIVR4P), world’s first and only international meeting dedicated exclusively to biomedical HIV prevention research, according to the enterprise secretariat.

According to the organisers, HIVR4P is expected to bring between 1200 to 1 500 leaders in HIV prevention research, programmes and policy to Chicago to respond to a growing consensus that effective HIV prevention will require a combination of approaches.

The conference is expected will support cross-fertilization among research on HIV vaccines, microbicides, Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP), treatment as prevention and other biomedical prevention
approaches.

It is also expected to provide an avenue to discuss research findings, questions and priorities specific to each modality.
