Harare,Zimbabwe (News of the South)-Albert Einstein postulates “logic will get you from A-Z ; imagination will get you everywhere.” A host of cultures either Christianity, African Religion, Hinduism and an array of other cultures puts emphasis on the substantive nature behind the importance of their ancestral remnants. The Egyptians take pride in their pyramids, not just because of the mere structures but because of the remnants of their ancestors within the pyramids.
Dissecting this through the biblical scope, Joseph said to Moses in exodus 13 vs 19 ,you must carry my bones up with you from Egypt. Therefore here is where Einstein’s theory comes into perspective, as Zimbabweans, for a moment if we can escape from our logical realm and enter into the terrestrial ecosystem of our imagination. Why should we take pride in a mere empty structure called the Great Zimbabwe Ruins? If the proclaimed chosen nation Israel took pride in its ancestries remains, then Zimbabweans should do the same.
The answer to the above consensus is just as complex as to why it has taken Zimbabwe more than 3 decades after its independence to facilitate the repatriation of our ancestors and spirit mediums remnants from foreign lands. It is therefore in this regard, that an array of stakeholders have put their heads together to organize a conference dubbed “Celebrating and appreciating The Life of Mbuya Nehanda’s Life Through Great Zimbabwe” set for Saturday ,30 June 2018 at the Peepul center, LE 46 DP, Leicester United Kingdom from 14:00 to 18:00hrs.
Speaking to News of the South, one of the conference organizers Eugene Majuru spoke passionately, profoundly and sensitively regarding this conference of utmost importance,
“I am a descendant of Mbuya Nehanda and feel that it us part of our responsibility to ensure that our forefathers are remembered for the role they played in the history of Zimbabwe. Great Zimbabwe has a great connection with Mbuya Nehanda, while celebrating her life we also have the opportunity to promote tourism through the Great Zimbabwe and the history that comes with it. Heroes of the first Chimurenga fought hard to protect our land Zimbabwe during the invasion by the settlers when First chimurenga broke out.
The sole purpose of this conference is to appreciate and celebration as well as create the opportunity to inform and educate those without or with limited knowledge of the background of the Great Zimbabwe and Mbuya Nehanda. If the spirit of Mbuya Nehanda rises from the dust and shakes the mountains and her spirit roars again her thunderous vivacious prophetic words “My bones shall rise” the remnants of our ancestors should be unveiled to the ancestors by our local chiefs during the Great Zimbabwe International Festival set for September 2018.
Other heroes who fought alongside Mbuya Nehanda include ,Mashayamombe Chinengundu of Mhondoro ,Chief Makoni Chingaira of Rusape, Sekuru Kaguvi and many others.
Regardless of different religious ideologies, there is one ideology that all these separatists believe in “the existence of the creator.” Therefore you are all invited to come and hear the link between the religious and the cultural thesis on why our forefathers remains should be returned home, celebrate and appreciate the life of Mbuya Nehanda through Great Zimbabwe.
