Despite a significant decrease in number of those confirmed to have contracted or died of Covid-19 the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Lilongwe has announced the death of Fr. Peter Jester Banda
According to the Episcopal Conference of Malawi’s Secretary General Reverend Fr. Henrey Said, Father Banda has succumbed to Covid-19 in the early hours of Tuesday at Kamuzu Central Hospital.
“Requiem Mass will be Celebrated at Maula Parish on Thursday 6th May 2021at 08:00 hours without the body,” reads part if the letter
Body of Fr Peter Jester Banda is expected to be burried at Likuni Parish Cemetery on the same Thursday at 10 o’clock.
In a related development, Government has shut down all operations at Dwangwa Sugar Factory following the death of an Indian expatriate who arrived in the country a few days ago.
