Harare, Zimbabwe (News of the South)- Reigning PSL champions Caps United FC have been booted out of the Chibuku Super Cup after the violence that erupted during their quarter final match against Shabanie.

The Green Machine were found guilty after their fans pelted the pitch with missiles as the referee ruled that their supposed equalising goal was in fact an offside.

In a statement the Ad hoc Committee ruled that the match had been awarded to Shabanie on a 3-0 scoreline.

“Caps have been charged for causing the abandonment of the Chibuku Super Cup Quarter final match between Caps United FC and Shabanie Mine FC played at Maglas Stadium on 8 October 2017”

“The Premier Soccer League Ad hoc Committee has awarded the match to Shabanie Mine FC on a 3-0 scoreline”

“Further, Caps United were fined a sum of $2000.00”, it said.

The ejection of the Lloyd Chitembwe coached side has left the knockout tournament shorn of any big name teams as Dynamos and Highlanders were also beaten.

Meanwhile the remaining teams will tussle it out for final spots on Sunday.

Harare  City will take on Bulawayo.City at1pm whilst Shabanie battle it out with How Mine at 3pm
