Zimbabwe. (News of The South) – The country is in a vacuumed position with all aspects of life that subscribes to the economic institution are already showing signs of incapacitation and inability to survive any longer.
This is the reality on ground despite other forces living in denial of the genuine economic tumoils that has fastened the belts of national economy from tightening the grip.
An instant look into the way various parastatols and individuals are surviving surely entails a replay of the 2008 economic doldrums but this time around on a different scale.
In the midst of all advesities diverging opinions regarding the fate of national economy the issue of sanctions has remained topical over the past two decades yet the government continues to see Vision 2030 as inevitable.
It is in this view that Zimbabwe Amalgamated Council of Churches (ZACC) together with stakeholders launched the Coalition Against Sanctions( CAS) with the intention to reignite the Zimbabwean society with the main thrust to enlighten the general citizens.
Speaking at the launch that commenced in the Capital today, CAZ Secretary General Dr Todson Gomo reiterated that its now time his organization take the issue of sanctions to another stage as they are affecting ordinary citizens.
“ We are now tired of going to the embassy over and over again it is my strong view that we take this issue of sanctions on the doorstep of the Americans until we win the situation.”
“Sanctions are terrible as we can see almost every citizen is being affected on daily basis and we continue to say they must be removed.”
Speaking at the same occasion Zimbabwe Amalgamated Council of Churches (ZACC) Chairman Bishop Richman Nyamombe sees sanctions as a ploy devised to trigger an atmosphere of political despondency amomgst the people.
“If we cannot be careful we shall continue hating and harming one another because sanctions were put inplace to cause political instability amongst the people themselves.”
Despite the Coalition Against Sanctions launch reaching its success tore it seems effoerts to engage the Americans and the Western World is still a far fatched dream as signs of negotiations are still looking slim.
On the other hand the economic side of the society is threatening to rich its waste scenario with a tale of myriad challenges gripping the nation ranging from employment companies closing down and prices of basic commodities skyrocketing.
