The joint operation with Nigerian forces came about following the abduction of 8 more school girls and Boko Haram threatening to sell them as sex slaves.

The spooks will track down members of the deadly Boko Haram group

British intelligence officers have been relocated from a station in Kenya, where they were gathering intelligence on al-Qaeda gangs.

Specialist spies from from MI6, MI5 and UK spy station GCHQ will assist in the rescue mission.

According to police sources said the girls were taken away on trucks, with looted livestock and food.

So far only 53 girls managed to escape.

The first group was snatched from their boarding school three weeks ago and protests have been held across Nigeria over the slow response of President Goodluck Jonathan’s government.

Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau said his network was behind the school abduction.

Shekau said: “They are slaves and I will sell them because I have the market to sell them.”

A warning has been issued by UN spokesman Rupert Colville that the kidnappers and potential slave buyers they would be hunted in years to come for “crimes against humanity”.
