Bona Mugabe, daughter to Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe now holds a Masters of Science in Banking following her graduation at the Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS) on Saturday.
The programme is affiliated with the University of Wales in the United Kingdom.
President Mugabe applauded the MDIS and promised to send more students
to study in Singapore.
“The fact that our daughter managed to do a degree here opened our
eyes much more.
“For now, we are going to sponsor ourselves, we are going to sponsor some students especially to the MDIS to do management,” said President Mugabe.
MDIS Secretary General Dr R Theyvendran said: “We are becoming a hub for education in the region , we have attracted students from 78 countries and Africa is a good area since its people are focused on developing themselves.”
Zimbabwe’s first family was accompanied by Senior Government Officials who made a stop-over in Singapore on their way to the Arab-Africa Summit in Kuwait next week.
Bona who did her undergraduate degree in Accounting and Finance in Hong Kong and choose to complete her Masters in Singapore was traditionally married in August and is expected to wed early next year.
