(News Of The South) – Hostage negotiator for the release of kidnapped Nigerian
schoolgirls Stephen Davis has named recently sacked army chief of staff Lt General Onyeabo Ihejirika and former Borni State Governor ALI Modu Sheriff as key sponsors of Boko Haram.
Davis, interviewed by Arise TV, said the Boko Haram commanders he had talked to seeking the release of the girls and had told him this.
Davis claimed Ihejirika and Sheriff financed Boko Haram and selected targets
for assassination and execution.
Davis said the only way to end kidnappings similar to that of the
Chibok girls was to cut Boko Haram’s sources of money and supplies.
Ihejirika rejected the claims he was linked to the terrorist group which killed 2000 people this year alone in the name of Islam.
