Harare, Zimbabwe. (News Of The South) – Primary and Secondary Minister Lazarus Dokora’s alleged announcements that government is open to the renouncing of Christianity as the main religion of the country in favour of Islam has opened up the prospect of a slow entrance of a new evil in the country.
Though all Minister Dokora has allegedly sought to do is remove Christian influence through education the resultant rebalancing of the religious scale is that the lesser religion of Islam will grow in the frenetic displacements ensuing.
In the midst of economic and political turmoil, religion has been the one source of stability and reassurances for many who have found solace and comfort through it.
It’s no stretch of the truth to allege that the mainstreaming of Christianity as the main religion for the nation has guaranteed peace through all the upheavals that the country has undergone and continues to have.
It is a mainly Christian people that went through the topsy-turvy challenges of Murambatsvina, the cash strapped times of 2008 and the useless trillions of then plus all the election shenanigans of
vote-rigging allegations, and Zimbabwe came out a peaceful country.
From the myriad case studies around the world, an Islamist country wouldn’t have such troubles and maintained civility order and peace.
Nigeria, Somalia, Sudan, Libya, Afghanistan, Syria and many other mainly Islamic nations have faced socio-economic and political challenges which have all ended up feeding from the core of Islamist
ideals leading to civil strife.
Today Somalia is a failed state due to Al Shabaab an Islamist organisation.
The infamous Boko Haram is itself a product of socio-economic disparities in the Nigerian system and yet has tapped into its Islamist beliefs leading to a terrorist organisation which has destroyed much.
The socio-economic disparities between the mainly Muslim North and the Christian South have been hijacked and loaded into a wagon together with Islamic beliefs leading to a movement whose ambitions are a medley of the spiritual and the practical.
They want jobs and they want an Islamist state. It’s almost certain their hard-nosed approach to negotiations spawning the abduction of the 276 Chibok girls is a manifest result of Islam as a religion.
90 percent of Zimbabweans, mainly Christians, are unemployed and need jobs yet no one has been kidnapped. No one has been shot. No one is in the bush fighting a guerilla warfare along highways.
All these terrorists feed on poverty, hopelessness and unemployment of the masses all these characteristics are existant in Zimbabwe today.
How a fundamentalist group can fail to grow in this fertile environment would be hard believe.
There is a pure level of Islam but the reality is that the religion still has a vagueness about its beliefs leaving room for wide interpretations which have given birth to fundamentalists such ISIS, Hezbollah and Al Qaeda. For all its positives the Islamic religion has done itself more damage to an extent where its acceptability, after the usurpation of Christianity doesn’t sound the least encouraging.
It has thus become synonymous with fundamentalists and other bigoted zealots who have spawned civils wars and strife in many nations around the world.
Islam as a religion has failed to ideologically rein in all the errant fundamentalists around the world. It has remained a large of zoo of beliefs in which anyone can pick his favourite interpretation and use
for selfish lusts and still escape with seemingly veritable Quran justified explanations.
It’s a religions whose axis of truth has sprouted so many shoots that everyone format of its interpretation is not just very true but very much supported by scriptures.
Christianity has the same problem, as do all religions, but a thorough examination of the fundamental basis of its scriptures will clearly discredit many of the forgeries unlike with Islam.
Islam has remained mired in a satanic utopia of excessive flexibility leading to all the terrorists managing to amass large masses of followers for their insane beliefs.
Designating such a religion as the mainstream religion for Zimbabwe isn’t the wisest move by the government. In its limited existence it’s a welcome part of the nation’s democratic overture of inclusivity and freedom of religion.
Islam has a foundation that is rooted in taking up the initiative and fighting for yourself as shown by the Prophet Muhammed’s vengeful return to Mecca, after fleeing in 622, with an army to fight those who had persecuted him 8 years before.
A Zimbabwe such as the present one is the perfect ground for another Islamists fundamentalist group to grow in and the government is slowly sowing the seeds for such in its haste to seek assistance everywhere and anywhere.
