BIRSTALL, Leicestershire (News of The South) – Birstall Park on Loughborough Road was abuzz with excitement today as the annual Birstall Gala drew a large and enthusiastic crowd, celebrating community spirit with a vibrant array of entertainment and activities. The funfair, which kicked off on Friday evening, continued to delight attendees throughout the day, marking another successful year for this cherished local event.
The Worshipful The Mayor of Charnwood, Councillor David Northage, was the guest of honour, attending alongside the Mayoress, Mrs. Jenny Northage. Speaking at the event, Mayor Northage expressed his delight at seeing the community unite. “It’s great to see the community come together, enjoying and having fun,” he remarked, noting the long-standing tradition of the gala, with people having attended for the last seven years. He extended his gratitude to Birstall Parish Council for their kind invitation.
