Birmingham, UK – Excitement is reaching fever pitch among Zimbabweans in the United Kingdom as Diaspora Insurance prepares to host Zimbabwe’s national football team, the Warriors, at a special welcome dinner in Birmingham tonight.

The prestigious reception comes after Diaspora Insurance warmly welcomed the Warriors upon their arrival in Birmingham, where the national team has been conducting training sessions ahead of upcoming unity cup to be played in London May 26 – 30.

Tonight’s event is expected to draw large numbers from the Zimbabwean community across the UK, with fans travelling from different cities to celebrate and show solidarity with the national team. Community leaders, businesspeople, football supporters, and Zimbabwean legends based in the diaspora are expected to attend what promises to be a memorable evening of unity and national pride.

The welcome dinner will not only honour the Warriors but also strengthen the bond between the team and Zimbabweans living abroad, many of whom rarely get the opportunity to meet and interact with their national football stars. The Warriors take in Nigeria’s Super Eagles on Tuesday night 26 May and India take on Jamaica in Wednesday May 27 at the Valley Stadium in London.

Diaspora Insurance, known for supporting Zimbabwean initiatives abroad, has described the occasion as an opportunity to bring together the Zimbabwean family in the UK while rallying support behind the Warriors.

Zimbabwean football legends and respected figures from the community are also expected to grace the reception, adding a touch of history and inspiration to the occasion as fans celebrate both past and present heroes of the beautiful game.

The atmosphere in Birmingham is already electric, with Zimbabweans expressing excitement on social media and within community groups ahead of the evening gathering. For many supporters, tonight’s reception is more than just a dinner — it is a celebration of Zimbabwean identity, football heritage, and unity in the diaspora.

As the Warriors continue their stay in Birmingham, the Zimbabwean community has pledged unwavering support, hoping their encouragement will inspire strong performances on the field.

For Birmingham tonight, it will be green, gold, red, and black as Zimbabweans gather to proudly welcome their Warriors.
