HARARE – (News Of The South) -Former Allied Financial Holdings (AFH)chief executive Terence Mukupe secured the Harare East parliamentary seat under the Zanu PF ticket through a resounding victory in the party’s primary elections.

Cde Mukupe locked horns in the primaries with the party’s losing candidate in the 2013 general elections Chuchu, Stalin Mau Mau, Magaret Sithole, Zvandasara, Pastor Chaniwa and Mavis Gumbo among others to replace Movement for
Democratic Change (MDC)’s deposed parliamentarian Tendai Biti.

“I’m really happy with the victory, I owe everything to the people of Harare East for their support and hope in my leadership”, said Terence Mukupe.

The race wasn’t easy for Cde Mukupe as he faced sabotage from his fellow contestants who tried to bribe the nomination body to have his application dismissed for the primaries.

“I was disqualified for contesting in the primaries due to unfair and selfish reasons as well as bribes by fellow contesting Cdes, thanks to His Excellency Cde R.G Mugabe for his fairness and justice leadership.
After I was disqualified, I straight away contacted my president who nullified my disqualification and approved my candidature for Harare East”, Mukupe explained.

The campaigning was done peacefully in Harare East with a few traces of violence linked to one Mavis Gumbo, former Women Soccer Body chair and former Psmas corrupt boss.

Terence Mukupe was man of the moment during campaigning periods witnessed by huge crowds during his rallies.

His policies are good and he has no criminal background like other contestants with that alone we owed him our votes”, said Zanu PF Magamba District Youth Chairman.

These are the results Chuchu 14, Sithole 20, Chanayiwa 31, Mau Mau 111, Zvandasara 141, Gumbo 369, Mukupe 659.
