The Ghana and Bianconeri midfield believes that Cristiano Ronaldo should be awarded the most prestigious individual accolade of Ballon d’Or ahead of Messi and Franck Ribery.
Ronaldo is among the three-man short list favourable to lift the prize in 2013 due to his prolific effect for the past 12 months.
The 28-year-old has banged a whooping 69 goals for Madrid becoming the most lucrative striker in European club football this season, and the Ghana international is of the opinion that Ronaldo deserves the trophy.
“In my opinion it will be Ronaldo,” said Asamoah.
“He did so well last season and this season he is continuing from where he left off and has been consistent, he deserves it.”
The Juventus midfielder, 25, also hipped praises on Ballon d’Or bound Ronaldo that he is a difficult striker to deal with so far.
“It wasn’t easy. That game was my first even playing at full-back. It wasn’t easy because these are players who have got speed and are very skillfull and know how to score.
“The smallest chance you give them they’ll punish you.They are good strikers.”
