Harare, Zimbabwe. (News Of The South) The Minister of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing, Saviour Kasukuwere today suspended all the 25 councillors of Chitungwiza Municipality.
The councillors have been suspended on allegations of corruption, abuse of office and dereliction of duty among other various offences. The Minister used the Local Government Laws Amendment Act to suspend the said councillors.
News Of The South desk is reliably informed that te Minister has since appointed a commission to be led by Mr Madzudzo Pawadyira and others including the District Administrator for Chitungwiza, Ms Chisango and a Mabhiza, a former councillor and businessman in Chitungwiza.
Political analyst Cde Musingo emphasized that Kasukuwere’s major target in the Municipality wrangle was George Makunde, the Town Clerk of Chitungwiza who happens to be the Deputy Secretary of Administration for Mash Central Province
He (Cde G. Makunde), wrote the prohibition order for Mafios and Mashange.
