Real Madrid mentor, Carlo Ancelotti, has insisted that Argentina international Di Maria will not leave Bernabeu, despite some media reports that the winger is frustrated and might be heading to Monaco.
Despite substituting the winger in Saturday’s Copa del Rey draw with Olimpic Xativa, Ancelotti has denied the 25-year-old is heading for the exit door, justifying his decision to replace him with Benzema that it was because of a minor injury and not as a result of being unhappy with Maria.
“He told me he felt discomfort so I told the others to warm up and, after that, I introduced Benzema,” said Ancelotti.
“But he has not talked about his future.He is happy here and he will not leave Madrid.
Madrid could not score on the artificial turf of La Murta, but Carlo Ancelotti was not worried about his side’s failure to score, insisting that they were not used to artificial grounds.
“I do not mind not having scored,” insisted Ancelotti.”This team makes a number of chances and scores a lot, so we’ll try to score in the next game.
“I’m happy with Morata’s performance tonight even though he could not score and it was clear we are not used to this type of grass.”
