A leicester Man Yakub Caratella “Jake” Proves Why Good Causes Are Quids In

0 0A leicester Uncle Yakub Caratella (Jake) collected many pound coins which will soon be given to the less privileged in the neediest parts of the world.
The old one pound coins ceased to be tender in the UK in October have since been given to Caratella`s niece Nahid Dhada who was given the task of finding out how much had been amassed over the years .
Nahid Dhada Aged 32 suffers from a medical condition osteogenesis Bone Disease which she has had from birth and is confined to a wheelchair for life.

With support from family as well as uncle Jake Nahid is a graduate with a BA honours degree in Design Craft.
Nahid said “My Uncle Jake has saved old £1 coins for many years and gave me the task of sorting the coins and it has proved to be a difficult task which took me a few days but iI have managed to sort them and bag them and the total figure is £1364.
“He originally said I could keep the money as thanks for counting them but I said it would be nicer to donate to charity. We have decided to donate 25 per cent to Rohingya, 25 percent to Yemen and the rest to East Africa appeals”.
