A sombre cloud hangs over the ZANU PF UK District today as members mourn the heartbreaking and unexpected loss of one of its most dedicated and dynamic mobilisers Cde Kudzayi Chipadza, affectionately known by his stage name, MC KayCie (Wamambo) and within his close circle KillaCity

Born into the spirit of patriotism, Cde Chipadza was the proud son of the late Cde George Chipadza, a revered liberation war hero. That legacy of sacrifice and service was not merely inherited ,it was lived, amplified, and embodied in everything KayCie stood for.

Though he made a name for himself in the entertainment world, earning deep respect as a promoter and performer, KayCie never distanced himself from the revolutionary politics that shaped his roots. On the contrary, he proudly embraced his role as a ZANU PF cadre, using his public platform and stage presence as a forceful tool for political mobilisation. Whether at musical events, community gatherings, or party functions, his performances were infused with patriotic messaging and often doubled as recruitment grounds for the revolutionary party ZANU PF UK District .He was a true example how everyone is a commissar in ZANU PF.

Cde KayCie had a rare gift ,an ability to bridge social, cultural, and political divides. With his magnetic personality, authenticity, and tireless drive, he connected with people from all walks of life. From Zimbabwean youth in the diaspora to elders and professionals in the community, he drew them into the ZANU PF fold with unmatched passion and purpose.

As Secretary for Health in the ZANU PF UK Youth League Executive, Cde KayCie distinguished himself as a servant leader. One of his most impactful contributions came during the Covid-19 pandemic, when he led health focused initiatives that mobilised vital supplies, including sanitisers donated to Zvishavane District Hospital. His leadership was a beacon of compassion and solidarity, showing that the party’s commitment to the people extended beyond rhetoric.

A strategic thinker and passionate organiser, Cde KayCie was at the heart of the party’s mobilisation efforts in the UK. His events were not only well attended ,they were electric. Whether at formal political gatherings or social functions, once KayCie took the mic, the atmosphere transformed. He blended entertainment with ideology, turning every event into an experience that was both uplifting and unforgettable.

ZANU PF UK has not just lost a cadre ,it has lost a visionary, a unifier, a straight talker, and a relentless patriot. Cde KayCie leaves behind a legacy of energy, service, and commitment that will inspire young district members for years to come.

Outside party duties, he was MC KayCie. Wamambo Holdings. Killa City. Dhunda. He was always the Sarajevo spark at every event. A man of many names and boundless energy, he lit up every party. His popular anthem “Ukandiwona Waona KayCie” wasn’t just a catchphrase ,it was a statement of presence. He was always the flame.

As a ghetto youth, deeply rooted in ghetto culture, he believed in uplifting others like him. Using his influence as a promoter, he helped bring countless ghetto youths including musicians and comedians ,to perform in the UK. He gave them a stage. He gave them hope. He believed, always, that “we rise by lifting others.”

KayCie was also the visionary behind the ZimBrits Awards, which he founded to create a platform that recognised and celebrated the talents of Zimbabweans in the UK. Under his leadership, ZimBrits became one of the few initiatives that actively honoured and supported women’s achievements ,most notably spotlighting the popular “Ladies of the UK” group, who proudly took home a ZimBrits Award at one point.

He was also widely known for organising the vibrant Heritage events, which showcased Zimbabwean culture and unity in the diaspora. These events reflected who KayCie truly was a man deeply passionate about and connected to his beloved nation.

As we mourn his untimely departure, we also celebrate a life lived in full ,in honour, in service, and in unwavering loyalty to the revolutionary cause.

Rest in Power, Cde KayCie (Wamambo).

The mic is silent, but your voice echoes on.
