Harare, Zimbabwe. (News Of The South) – WOMEN, as the procreators and caregivers of humankind, are often taken for granted. A lot of stereotyping is attached to them, alongside some unsavoury and derogatory terms that demean their position in society.

Terms such as house-wives, among others, are often bandied around as a way of defining them; but the fact is that these people deserve ‘flowers in their hair’ for their contribution towards what humanity is today.

This was said by Dr Apostle Florence Kanyati, who is one of Zimbabwe’s most powerful, influential, inspirational, motivational and spiritual women. Together with her husband Langton Kanyati, the author, preacher, motivational speaker and marriage counsellor founded the Grace Unlimited Interdenominational and Zoe Life Changing Ministries.

Mai Kanyati was speaking ahead of this year’s edition of their ministry’s annual “Rizpah Women’s Conference” which will be held at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC)’s main auditorium this Saturday.

“As in all of our previous Rizpah conferences, we have been basing all of our themes around women and issues affecting them. Ever since our inception in 2001, we have never wavered to use the Biblical character of the lady Rizpah as a way of motivating women to excel in their respective fields, and this does not limit or confine women but also embraces those who are of a marginalized and uneducated background. These are the people we want to rise up tomorrow and testify of the power of God working wonders in their lives,” she said.

Added Mai Kanyati: “The Rizpah Conference is tailor-made to empower women in all spheres of life, be it spiritual, financial, academic, social and entrepreneurial. We are trying to break the stereotype that women are born with no options in their lives but to settle to a life of being spoon-fed while she does all the dirty work. However, we are not inciting women to rebel against their husbands, societies or nations; rather they have a major contribution to play towards developmental issues,” she said. Mai Kanyati said the theme of this year’s conference, “Mudzimai Wese Kuna Jesu” was meant to encourage to turn to God, remain steadfast and resilient while at the same time rooting their faith in God if people were to move forward.

“We want to raise a winning woman, a woman who should be able to stand on the podium and say this is what God did for me, a Rizpah woman who is not a victim of life but a force to reckon with in life,” Mai Kanyati said.

Gospel musicians Takesure Zama, Zim Paise Mathias Mhere and Zoe Praise Team will entertain attendees at the conference that starts at nine in the morning and runs until late.
