Following the rapid increase in the confirmed cases, the lockdown has been tightened a little in order for the cases to reduce.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa said that all non-working sections of population must stay at home, unless getting health services, food or water.

Citizens must wear a mask outside their homes, wash hands or use sanitizer and there would also be mandatory screening in public places and physical distancing.

Business premises are required to operate from 8 in the morning till 3 in the afternoon with the exception of essential services and all security services must enforce daily curfew 6pm – 6am. Only essential services are exempted from curfew.

Those workplaces that will be open are supposed to enforce the World Health Organisation Covid-19 guidelines.

To add on to the above measures put forward, only registered SMEs which have been allocated workplaces may operate.

All food markets will remain open and they are required to observe the #covid19Zim guidelines and that is asking customers to put on masks on entry, sanitizing them, checking their temperature and also making sure that they are observing social distancing.

Public gatherings for social, religious or political purposes remain banned, and funerals remain curtailed.

Churches had previously been opened and were required to follow the Covid-19 guidelines but now are to be closed too.
