The Soul of any community lives within the heart of its people. In recent years, AFRICA4U AWARD community initiatives were held in the UK, Germany, Netherlands, Romania, Malta, Switzerland, The USA and Nigeria.
On Saturday February 1, 2020, the African4U Association hosted the Bradford International Women of The year awards for the very first time. The awards seek to appreciate inspirational women. The venue for the award ceremony was The City Library, Bradford West Yorkshire.
The winners were:
Professor Uduak Archibong (MBE) Professor of Diversity, University of Bradford (Nigerian)
Sheena Hussain , Qualified Lawyer and Published Poet(Pakistan)
SISTER Glynis Sibisi, CEO OF My Daddys Haven ( South Africa)
Dorcas Olayemi Anusan – Fagbourun (MBE) (Nigeria)
Quamar JKhan, The Faith Centre, Bradford (Pakistan)
The amazing Key Speakers Ishmeal Lee Ismael Lea South (Black and Etnic Minority consultant) and Sister Hamida Mbaga , The CEO of All Things African, travelled all the way from Manchester.
“They continue to make great contributions to humanity on a daily basis. We are privileged to have these great souls within our community” said Tony Fernandez the event host.
Commisioner Olalekan Odedeyi travelled from Middlesbrough and spoke about THE SAVE THE WOMAN CAMPAIGN and Bradford based Osakwe Nonyelum Esther shared her stories with everyone who attended.
