Zimbabwe put up a dominant display to win their second game of the day as they thrashed a hapless Lesotho side 79-22 at Bellville Velodrome where the Africa netball cup 2019 is happening.
Zimbabwe got into the game after making 1 change with Patricia Mauladi replacing Lorraine Manjoro in the starting seven, and as the first quarter went by everyone could see the direction the match was taking and it was only a matter of how much as Zimbabwe went into the first breather leading 25-04.
The Gems were relentless in their cause and continued to punish BaSotho who were fast and always used the floor pace to beat the taller Zimbabweans, and they would go to halftime leading 42-9 having scored a further 17 points.
Coach Ropafadzo Mutsauki introduced Lorraine Manjoro at the start of the 3rd quarter and would go on to make a further change up top with Linda Nkorongo getting a feel of the Velodrome court in place of the limping Joice Takaidza but the result was the same and it was just matter of game management and waiting for the final buzzer and when it did eventually come, the gems walked off the court happily with a second win of the day.
Tommorow they face Northern Neighbors Zambia in a match that is expected to be close.
