Harare, Zimbabwe (News of the South) – Professor Jonathan Moyo has hit back at Finance Minister Patrick Chinamasa after the latter accused Moyo of being a mole in Cabinet as the factional battle in Zanu PF continues unabated.

Chinamasa came out in the state media this week accusing Moyo of going to the private media and revealing  Cabinet business.

Prof Moyo has however dismissed these accusations as rubbish.

“Fascinating stuff that a whole Minister of Finance can say such unadulterated rubbish all for the purpose of advancing a factional agenda!”

Moyo refuted that he had even been at the Cabinet meeting where the alleged statements leaked to the press had been stated.

“Unsurprising but what is surprising is that @Zimindependent had more verbatim exposes on PB meeting I didn’t even attend the previous week!”

The allegations which were part of a state media publication attacking Moyo was accompanied by a cartoon depicting Moyo as the hidden editor writing for the private media.

The factional fighting in Zanu has continued rocking the party with the various personnel in the factions going on to use the media as platforms to attack each other.

Whilst the Lacoste faction led by VP Mnangagwa has been using at state Media such as Zimpapers publications The Herald and the Sunday Mail, Moyo’s G40 has had respite through the private and social media.

This is against their leader, President Mugabe,  calling for civil approaches to the disagreements and the use of party structures.

The continued fights have in turn heightened the expectations of the opposition parties which feel that a destabilised Zanu-PF will provide an easy target come the 2018 elections.
