Harare, Zimbabwe (News of the South) – Flamboyant businessman and musician Energy Mutodi has today released a new album that becomes his 15th since he entered the music scene in 2010.
Titled, “YAMBIRO”, the new album that carries 6 tracks and according to the musician himself it “promises to be a thriller compared to earlier works”.
Mutodi remains a myth to many Zimbabweans as he has been involved in a variety of ventures that include business management, academics, music and politics.
In a rambling bio of his works Mutodi pats himself on the back about his exploits.
“In his latest album, Mutodi who arguably is Zimbabwe’s best song writer of our time has demonstrated his prowess in terms of the shona cultures and poetry that he has acquired through his acquaintance with the shona people of Zimbabwe”, he says on his Facebook page.
“Listening to his songs will not only give you the wisdom that the musician himself has relied on to be a successful person but will also allow you to appreciate the depth of the Shona language in all its dialects”
The new album includes songs: Mvura naya naya, Nhamo, Yambiro, Jemusi, Mudzimu mukuru and Gomba rinokuda uri pamurume.
Mutodi’s music has however generally failed to penetrate the market and of his 15 albums very few songs have received much if any airplay.
