Chinese Have Lost Confidence In Mugabe
By Martin Muleya.
Mutare. (News Of The South) – The continued misrule of Zanu Pf and its misplaced priorities on the economy has led to nation to lose investors, whose presence could have ignited the economy to boost, News Of The South has learnt.
Speaking to hundreds of MDC- T supporters who thronged the memorial service of Senator Josiah Rimbi that was held last Saturday at Rimbi Business Centre, Movement for Democratic Change leader Morgan Tsvangirai said the continued rule of Zanu Pf leader President Robert Mugabe has also led to the country losing confidence in their so called ‘all-weather friends’ because of the ailing economy punctuated by high unemployment rate which is estimated to be above 83percent.
“Zanu Pf stole the July 2013 harmonized elections from us and today six months down the line things are in shambles. There is no forward looking cabinet in place and hundreds of people getting fired from their workplaces; this smells doom for ordinary citizens.
“Recently there has been a lot of infighting in the ruling party and yet Mugabe is still clinging to power. I tell you that even China and Russia have also lost confidence in Mugabe’s rule, Tsvangirai said.
The MDC-T leader urged his supporters to take advantage of the chaos in Zanu Pf to lure more supporters to a party that seeks to restore change desperately needed in this country. He noted that as a man who is driven by the desire to see democracy taking place in the country, his heart was bleeding to contemplate that this country had slowly become a capitalist state.
“We have an opportunity to lure more supporters to our party if we take advantage of the chaos being witnessed in Zanu Pf. I have come to reaffirm to you that we are on a mission to win elections from the struggling Zanu Pf.
Personally I am angered by the political leadership in Zanu Pf who have turned this nation into a capitalist state. The problem started since independence that it has been a selected few who are eating the national cake whilst the rest of the general populace are dying due to poverty” noted the MDC-T leader.
Meanwhile a family representative who spoke during the memorial service described the late Senator Rimbi as a fearless man whose contribution to the MDC family was immeasurable.
“We have lost father, a teacher and a political activist who desired to bring political change in Rimbi community and the nation at large. We are passing on the baton to the family he left behind and hopefully they will rally behind the MDC-T party that their father supported with passion,” he said.
Senator Josiah Rimbi died in 2013 after suffering from a long illness. He died before the 2013 general elections in which the MDC-T lost to Zanu Pf.
