Harare, Zimbabwe. (News of The South) – The Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) yesterday had its full standing committee convened a special meeting at Morgan Tsvangirai House ahead of the much awaited congress to be held in Gweru in few weeks time.
In attendance were all the top brass crew including the much talked about Secretary General Douglas Mwonzora, Tendai Biti, Welshman Ncube and Elias Mudzuri amongst others before party President, Nelson Chamisa addressed members of the media in a press conference that was called for at short notice.
Among the issues brought to public attention by Chamisa were challenges affecting the entire nation and the impending dialogue with President Emerson Mnangagwa which most Zimbabweans are clamouring for in the quest to get the national economy to its feet.
According to Advocate Chamisa myriad problems Zimbabwean people are grappling with are attributed to the wave of political disjuncture in the country.
“There is a political stalemate in the country, there is a crisis of governance, and there is a crisis that must be resolved where we have Mr Mnangagwa there and I myself here.”
“We need dialogue between myself and Mr Mnangagwa which is properly done by a mutually agreed adjudicator, preferably a former head of state,” reiterated Advocate Chamisa.
Despite admitting to a tune of political discord with his archrival Zanu pf which has become a talk of the day there is still need to focus on the myriad challenges which ordinary citizens are facing.

“We have said lets discuss our issues to have a common ground. I think that’s a progressive way. If we are able to have dialogue to save lives, the better instead of losing lives just to have dialogue” he said.
“Let there be dialogue on issues affecting Zimbabweans. I have said it, I am saying it and I will always say it, we are ready to meet Mr Mnangagwa on issues affecting Zimbabweans because most of the people who are being affected are MDC supporters and the people who voted for us” he said.
The opposition leader also took a swipe to attack the recent invitation of Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni by President Mnangagwa to grace this year’s edition of Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) arguing that Zimbabwe learn nothing from a dictator who is at the height of brutalized his own people.
