Zimbabwe – The government’s postponement of salaries of civil servants from May 22 to 28 has raised an outcry across the nation concerning the national financial status.

The sad news has sent shivers within the members of civil services as they have now been inconvenienced.

Speaking to the disgruntled civil servants, the News Of The South learnt that it has become government’s norm to postpone their salaries as it has now happened for the third time in a row.

‘This is sad news to us and we are not happy at all, this is not the first time we have been inconvenienced like this, it`s now the third time, since March we have been getting our salaries on a later date than what is written on payslips said a Jeffrey Muvhuni employed by the Prison and Correctional Service.

The continued postponement of salaries is now a clear sign of deep financial crisis affecting our nation and this is now showing that the nation is at risk of going back to the 2008 crisis.

The nation is faced with a serious financial crisis and economic instability with strained international relations and an ailing industry the future looks so bleak.
