Investor Sought For Zimbabwe`s Sanitary Wear
There is an urgent need to address the need for sanitary wear in Zimbabwe as women and children face difficulty in accessing pads during their menstrual periods.
Zimbabwean businesman Vitalis Chinyanya who formed Clovit Investments ltd in October 2001 is appealing for assistance to continue with his project, sanitary wear production.
Financial assistance is needed tp keep his factory operational and make a difference to Zimbabwean females who find it difficult to purchase pads as they are costly.

Initially Clovit investments was started as distributors for a local manufacturer distributing through the major retail outlets, such as OK Zimbabwe, TM, Mackro (now Closed),Red Star (now Closed), Jaggers (now closed).
They introduced own brand (Day and Night Monitor in 2003), started getting product and repacking in own packaging.
So far Clovit investments has managed to import their own equipment from China in 2005, bought and built own premises in the same year, set up and commissioned the plant in 2005.
At the moment the factory is not operational due to working capital constraints, equipment is all in good running order, the factory is based in Chitungwiza, dormitory town for Harare City (30km from City)
Cost of Sanitary Wear in Zimbabwe
Most products on the shelves are imports from South Africa and the prices range from $1.50 to $2.50 for a pack of 10 pads. This may sound cheap but is way out of reach for most women and the girl child.
The most affected are the school children especially in the remote, rural Zimbabwe and female prisoners.
“The idea is to make a product which the end user can access at a price range of 55 cents to 75 cents” said Chinyanya.
Competitor Analysis
As far as competition is concerned, major competition is from the imported brands
The Zimbabwean community is set to benefit a great deal if the product can be manufactured in Zimbabwe.
