….. Its just hauite hauite hauite, haazi mafunies, popopopoppo, karmaaaaaan etc on every radio station, these are trademark words of dancehall artists who are undoubtedly becoming a force to recogn in the music circles.
Zimdancehall is fast-rising and is now eclipsing the once popular genres in Zimbabwe such as sungura, chimurenga, jazz and gospel.
The popularity of these genre is going unnoticed as some of the artists of this type of music have been on demand as characterised by attendence at their shows as well as their demand internationally.

Having some artists as young as Killer T,Seh Calaz,Soul Jah Love,Freeman to list a few touring Europe and South Africa is the evidence that this genre is taking over.
Sungura which was once the Zimbabwe’s most popular genre is fading with many thinking that it`s all because of lack of competition, and complacency to the sungura kingpins such as Alick Macheso,Suluman Chimbetu and Gift Amuli which have led these artists to produce below par albums and many music lovers are switching sides going to dancehall genre which is so competitive.
With the likes of Peter Moyo,Romeo Gasa,Tryson Chimbetu and other sungura youthful artists finding the going very tough its not the same with the likes of Sniper,Seh Calaz;Shinsoman,Guspy Warrior who are smiling all way to the bank as promoters are after their signatures.
Winky D has toured the world so much visiting other places which Nicholas Zachariah,Sugar Sugar,Bob Nyabinde and many other sungura and jazz artistes just dream of.
