Birmingham,  United Kingdom (News of The South) Birmingham is set for a vibrant cultural explosion this Saturday as two of Zimbabwe’s most adored performers  Baba Harare and Gemma  share the stage for a highly anticipated UK headline show. The event, taking place at the King of Clubs on Hill Street, promises to warm up the winter chill with the unmistakable pulse of Zimbabwean rhythm and artistry.

The night marks a significant moment for Baba Harare, who returns to his roots with a full reconnection to jiti, the energetic, guitar-driven traditional Zimbabwean sound that originally propelled him to stardom. After experimenting with different styles in recent years, his return to jiti has sparked excitement among fans eager to experience the “Jiti Godfather” in his purest form.

Joining him on stage is Gemma, affectionately known as Musikana wekuHarare. The singer-songwriter has become a beloved figure for her soulful, modern take on Zimbabwean music and her seamless blend of English and Shona influences. Her return to the UK comes fresh off a series of standout performances on the African continent, and her presence adds powerful star quality to the night.

Together, Baba Harare and Gemma form a duo that promises rhythm, energy, and cultural pride  a combination primed to ignite Birmingham’s dance floor. With winter temperatures dropping, their performance is expected to bring much-needed warmth and excitement to Zimbabwean music lovers and the broader Afro-diaspora community across the UK.

The show runs from 10 PM to 4 AM, with last entry at 1 AM, giving fans a full night of live music, dance, and the unmistakable spirit of home.

This Saturday, Birmingham dances to the heartbeat of Zimbabwe.
