He also is a master of multiple instruments such as mbira, guitar, marimba, Hosho, Ngoma, and keyboard. On the academic and professional side he holds a First Class degree in Professional Musicianship and a Master’s degree in Popular Music Practice from BIMM University in Brighton. He offers a variety of performances, from traditional acoustic sessions to lively electric band shows. Besides being highky qualified as a misician Wengara is a highly respected Mbira teacher at esteemed institutions like SOAS and Goldsmiths University. Headlining the first ever UK Mbira Festival, a testament to his significant contribution to Zimbabwean music in the UK.
