Chamisa’s Assassination- Claim Explained
BY DR MASIMBA MAVAZA
The social media has again been awash with the news that Nelson Chamisa survived an assassination attempt. The MDC’s Nelson Chamisa without shame spoke on the attempts to assassinate him. He was quick to say it was ZANU PF which wanted to kill him. He claimed that he has survived two assassination attempts in Chiredzi and Mutare and he said the Zimbabwean government desperately seeks to disrupt his community engagement meetings.
He wrote on his official Facebook page:
THEY NEARLY TOOK ME OUT..He wants me killed and dead.
They want blood and more blood. They missed by seconds because Our #Godisinit.Violence & assassinations won’t solve complex national challenges.
I’m in Nyanga today meeting the community.Change must happen. The citizens are clear!
I’m in rural Manicaland ..The JOY & HOPE is palpable !
HOPE is all I see.
HOPE is what we represent.
HOPE is what we bring! A NEW GREAT ZIMBABWE in our lifetime. Winning Zimbabwe for Change!
THE MDC Alliance claimed party leader Nelson Chamisa’s convoy was intercepted by heavily suspected armed Zanu PF youths who fired gunshots, hitting a rear window on the opposition leader’s vehicle on the outskirts of Mutare.
He was coming from Birchenough Bridge and Chipinge headed for Mutare when he claimed to have been intercepted by the Zanu PF youths who were travelling in over a dozen unmarked twin-cab vehicles. He went on to say the youth were armed with guns, machetes and axes.
The alleged incident was not reported to the police.
The police have on their own volition requested to attend the scene but the MDC refused. The Police further requested to send experts but it was denied access. Since it was not an official complaint the police has their hands tied.
The MDC A made complaints to social media and to America. America was the first country to protest and complain agains the fake assassination claim by Nelson Chamisa.
Despite the fact that Foreigners view the United States as a nation is prone to political violence. Nine presidents have been the targets of assassination, along with one president-elect and three presidential candidates. In addition, some eight governors, seven U.S. Senators, 10 Representatives, 11 mayors and 17 state legislators have been violently attacked. No other Western country with a population over 50 million has as high a number. So the United States is not in a position to lecture is on political violence. The lies being spread by the MDC are a well rehearsed project to tarnish the name of Zimbabwe and to throw the 2023 elections in doubt.
The MDC is setting grounds to boycott elections and this is why they have to act and fake assassinations. What does history tell us about political violence?
First, political assassinations have tended to occur during elections periods or civil strife and intense partisanship. The first presidential assassination attempt — against Robert Mugabe in 1980. The next one was against the then vice president the current president of Zimbabwe. All the attempts were on the ruling party. The opposition had never had any assassinations or attempts on their members or their leaders. The Chamisa strategy of feigning attack is the water mark of the MDC A. They have feigned kidnappings they have feigned deaths and assassinations.
A wave of political violence swept the nation after the formation of MDC marked by bitter disputes over structuring and fierce labor conflict.
Zimbabwe has no history of political murders of the opposition members and its leaders. The Americans who are gullible and quick to believe the drama queens are the ones with an ugly history of assassinations and political violence. Between 1865 and 1877, 34 political officials were attacked, 24 of them fatally. These included a U.S. senator, two Congressional representatives, three governors, 10 state legislators, eight judges and 10 other officeholders. This has marked the history of violence in the United States.
The 20th century America saw three peak periods of political violence: at the turn of the century, the 1920s and 1930s, and 1963 to 1981. This system of assassinating is foreign to Zimbabwe and prevalent in America.
Nelson Chamisa has taken a lead in drama awards as he begged the fake man and a clown of the year. The attempted assassinations are all in the warped mind of Chamisa and his followers.
There is no reason for ZANU PF to try and kill Chamisa. His party has no name snd has no followers. Chamisa is not a threat to ZANU PF and therefore ZANU PF has no reasons to chase the lunatic.
Assassinations are a persistent feature of the political landscape and have never been used by ZANU PF. The winning party has no reason to assassinate anyone. It is Chamisa who sought to assassinate himself so that he can get the sympathy of the people. His actions are total Fraud. Yes we know thay
Assassinations of prominent political leaders have occurred throughout history but Zimbabwe has appetite to assassinate Chamisa or his team. Unlike in Zimbabwe a national leader has been assassinated in nearly two of every three years since 1950.
Assassination is seen as a murder whose target was prominent political figure; there was a political motive for the murder; or the murder would have a political impact. The existence of any one of the three elements, it is pointed out, would qualify a murder as an assassination. The near death situation will surely need you to seek the protection of the police.
Why does the Police of the Republic, allow the government to be tarnished with fabricated accusations regarding the supposed attempted murder of Chamisa in Manicaland. Why would the president of Zimbabwe allow the MDC A to dance naked on the face of the nation.
Let us turn to the facts. A picture of car window with a scratched window is spread all over internet. ZANU PF is accused of the attempted assassination of Nelson the drama king Chamisa. The accusation was concocted from a banal discussion about a group of MDC supporters disguised as ZANU PF approached Chamisa who was already shaking. The ZmDC claimed they were then attacked. The assortment of weapons alledged to have been with the gang was knives axe and gins.
ZANU PF youth are never armed,in order to succeed in lying they have to refuse to seek police intervention.
The shameless supporters of MDC start flooding the social media with stupid lies of attempted assassination.
No assassinations of politicians who are not in power is “demanded” and there exists no need for protection against would-be assassins.
We need to understand that there is assassination as a means by which one political elite replaces another without effecting systemic or ideological change. But in this case the attempted assassination of Chamisa is meant to destroy the legitimacy of the ruling elite and to effect systemic or ideological change through gunning for popularity through created sympathy. This is the reason why the MDC pretends that the attempted assassinations are ordered by the ruling elite to counteract political challenge.
Zimbabweans are mature enough to realise that the attempted assassination of Chamisa was done for propaganda purpose to promote an ideology; and to make the world believe that Zimbabwe does not tolerate any descending opposition voice.
It is sad that the alleged Chamisa’s assassination attempt was caused to satisfy the pathological needs of abnormal individuals acting under an ideological guise. The Zimbabwean people have realised that the typical fake assassination attempt of Chamisa is the act of a deranged, self-appointed opposition leader. In contrast to worldwide patterns, assassination by an organized political group is rare in this country.
The idiocy of trying to achieve change by extralegal actions has long been an active in the MDC Chamisa corridors.
Chamisa is trying to overthrown the legitimate Zimbabwean government by acting outside the legal process.
One has to ask these questions
Had assassination attempt not become a part of political life in the MDC? Is violence not interwoven with MDC and Chamisa’s political history.
The cry of attempted assassinations and political violence is the tool MDC uses to achieve popularity. This is again a tool used to persuade the outside world to have a dim view of Zimbabwe.
This system of lying deceit and childish mentality has manifested itself in MDC Chamisa’s political life.
Nowhere in the world has a victim of attempted murder refused police assistance.
MDC is known to create some dramatic scenes in order to attract a negative reaction from the police.
All the noise is simply an exaggerated drama meant to capture the attention of the world.
