HARARE,Zimbabwe.（News of the South）-A High Court has dismissed a bail appeal by jailed anti-corruption journalist Hopewell Chin’ono.
The journalist was arrested on July 20 on allegations of inciting the public to commit public violence. Prior to his arrest, Chin’ono exposed alleged corruption by senior government officials in the adminstration of
Covid-19 funds.
His arrest has invited an uprour in the country amid allegations of human rights violation. Justice Tawanda Chitapi ruled that Chin’ono was not a proper candidate for bail as he might incite the public to revolt.
