In direct mutilation and defiance of the gospel Dr Shingi Munyeza, in a church sermon today, called for an uprising against the government.
Dr Munyeza is a member of the Presidential Advisory Council (PAC).
In a video sermon gone viral on social media Dr Munyeza challenged the youth to rise up against the government of the day, likening the nation to the fate of slavery the biblical Israelites suffered at the hands of the Egyptians.
“Our young people need to rise up,” the man of God challenged.
“Zimbabwe…families, marketplace…you don’t conquer your enemies by using the same methods they use on you. You have got to use a totally different strategy,” he added, without elaborating on the kind of strategy employable other than the electoral processes.
Munyeza roped in Zim-dancehall artist Winky D’s song “Ijipita” in stirring up the youth to revolt, saying his song is “a cry of a nation that knows bondage.”
Pontificating with pronounced zeal and carefully picked strong words in the video, Munyeza placed the burden to remove the government on the shoulders of the youth.
“This change…dismantling of the system, the disgorging of the strongman is gonna happen because of the younger generation,” he declared.
Zimbabwe is in the midst of an economic crisis that continues to worsen with the emergence of natural disasters; cyclone Idai recently, and the COVID-19 pandemic currently choking the life out of the global community.
“Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities…Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted…”: Romans 13, New International Version.
