Harare, Zimbabwe (News of The South (News of The South)- Religious institution has over the years suffered in many ways at the adversity of the political world with the two either correlate for the good course or for creating endless adversities.
Biblically Prophets like Amos, Hosea and Jeremiah among others were viewed as the custodians of thier national conscience and on the other hand there were great personalities such as Isaah who executed thier duties as political prophets.
Taking a look closer on the contemporary world the biblical prophetic edges and style could be slightly dramatized with a little bit of marked differents.
A general survey on the apostolic and Zionist sects in the country indicate that their majority still adheres to the ideological sentiments which certfies the governments in power as legitimate and therefore thier involvement in the political activities of the day will be slim.
On the other hand some prophets in the contemporary world such as the recently hospitalized Talent Chiwenga is known for his consistency in aunclaunching fierce attacks on the current government through prophetic utterances.
Prophet Ck Tonnie real name Brighton Chikomo based in South Africa has emerged to be a counter critique of Apostle Chiwenga utterances denouncing his prophetic style and involvement in attacking political leaders the day.
“Its not good to attack our leaders in the way Chiwenga does but infact it is our duty as Prophets and church leaders, it’s biblical to pray and respect the seating leaders no matter how good or bad they are they need guidens and prayers.”
Bareley a week before the Operation Restore Legacy by the armed forces in the country former first lady, Grace Mugabe had gathered Zionist/Apostolic followers at Rufaro Stadium dubbed the Super Sunday an event which all the sect leaders proved thier allegiance to the Mugabes before they were disposed.
In the same setting over the recent years politicians have been seen attending some Christian gatherings and pilgrims with the view to seek optimism in thier work and prophetic guidance from prophets and visionaries.
Such a modus operandi has invoked a germ of enemity withinthe Christian power-house where some Church leaders are seen attacking thier fellow counter parts for thier involvement in the political affairs.
