Harare, Zimbabwe (News Of The South) – Zimbabwe People First Political Party leader Ambassador Agrippa Mutambara has congratulated Advocate Nelson Chamisa for being elected the MDC official President at the just ended congress in Gweru.

Addressing members of the media today in the Capital, Ambassador Mutambara expressed his satisfaction over Chamisa’s election by his party bearers at the recent congress.
“MDC has just held its elective congress and elected unopposed Nelson Chamisa as its President.”
“We take this opportunity to congratulate Advocate Chamisa and office bearers for the trust placed on them by thier party.”
However ZimPF leader has come out clear saying the party has officially withdrawn from MDC Alliance at the back of a mumber of disagreements which prevailed during the run down of 2017 Harmonized Elections last year.
“In the period leading to the 2018 elections ZIMPF alongside other parties had a much closer association with MDV (T) led by Dr Morgan Tsvangirai and later by Advocate Chamisa by forming an alliance. By coming together the MDC Alliance presented a seemingly unstoppable challenge to ZANU PF.”
“However the big brother mentality was it’s undoing. The MDC Alliance never operated as a united opposition force. Alliance partners were sidelined by the biger MDC (T). What mattered most to the MDC leadership was the regrouping of former colleagues, Hon Tendai Biti and Professor Ncube.”
Following the Zim PF deflection and the subsequent regrouping of MDC to build a formidable political leadership triggered desertion of supporters who joined the Alliance.
