Real Madrid superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo, will not feature in Saturday’s La Liga encounter at the Bernabeu against Valladolid to ensure that he is 100% fit, the former PSG coach has revealed.
Carlo Ancelotti says he can’t take any risk by playing the Ballon d’Or contender in Saturday’s match against Valladolid.
Ronaldo picked up a hamstring injury in Madrid’s 5-0 thumping of Almeria a week ago and he also missed Champions league victory over Galatasary.
“Ronaldo is fully recovered.He took part in training, but did not look entirely comfortable.That’s why we have decided not to take any risks,” Ancelotti said.
“Angel Di Maria will take his place against Valladolid.”
The Italian also denied media reports that Fabio Coentrao is likely to leave the club for Manchester United during the summer transfer window.
“Coentrao will not leave Madrid in January,” he said.”He asked us to be allowed to leave in the summer and we told him that we wanted him to stay.He has not asked for a transfer again.” The Portuguese international’s contract with Madrid runs until June 2017.
