Zimbabwean care worker based in UK`s Luton city, Jackie Ndoro has been given a four month suspended jail sentence for neglect of an elderly resident in her care.
38 year old Ndoro who worked at the Limes in Henlow a 23 bedded home owned by Joan Wilkinson and run by son Kevin was caught from evidence of video footage on cctv.
Kevin installed the cctv to monitor the goings on at the home and to see what was taking place.
Ndoro was sentenced at Luton crown court and was found guilty of neglecting 86 year old Albert Riches who had fallen and was left on the floor for an hour despite his calls for assistance.
The court viewed the footage of Riches who suffered from Alzheimer`s disease lying on the floor following a collapse due to a series of mini- strokes.
Riches shouted “help me” and was ignored by Ndoro.
On passing judgement, Prosecutor Isabel Delamere described Ndoro and a colleague she was working with as “shocking” and “couldn`t be bothered” to hoist the elderly resident from the floor.
Ndoro was given a sentence suspended for 12 months.
This conviction has serious implications on Ndoro`s future employment as she can no longer work with vulnerable adults and the conviction will appear on her CRB records.
