Harare, Zimbabwe. (News of The South) – A ZIMBABWEAN fast fast food outlet Bhello City Foods has scored a first by becoming the only Zimbabwean company to be selected for this year’s edition of the International Star Award for Quality (ISAQ) to be held in Geneva, Switzerland, between September 23 and 24.
The outlet, which runs two ventures in Harare’s Central Business Distict, is owned by Harare businessman Isaac Chamangira who transformed the business entity from a small-scale business equity to what it is today.
Chamangira said he was thrilled to receive the honour and also being the only Zimbabwean to represent the country at the awards ceremony which will include a gala dinner and awards presentation at the Inter-Continental Convention Hall in Geneva on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 September.
“We are thrilled to inform Zimbabweans that we shall be representing the country at the International Star Award for Quality (ISAQ) to be held in Geneva, Switzerland this month. We were selected as the only Zimbabwean company to receive the prestigious award for quality for the event which will be graced by other corporates from different parts of the world.
“All in all, we are 70 recipients of the award and we are happy that we will be lifting the country’s flag high there as tourism ambassadors,” Chamangira said.
He said the whole process involved a voting process from people across the whole world.
“People voted for the businesses which they thought deserved the honour, and we are happy to say that we are going to return their favour by marketing Zimbabwe as a safe tourist destination,” Chamangira said.
He said as part of their winning package, Bhello City Foods was going to benefit via seminars, a trophy, as well as the training of 24 personnel from their staff in catering services thanks to the awards organisers.
In a letter to Chamangira, the awards organisers stated that “the International Star Award for Quality (ISAQ) of Business Initiative Directions (BID) is presented in recognition of those companies or organizations in different countries throughout the world that further their reputation and position by implementing and promoting quality culture.”
This year, the ISAQ awards are in their 18th year running.
Meanhile, Chamangira recently officially opened a section of his Bhello City Foods branch which he believes will go a long way in promoting Zimbabwean tourism together with the culinary business.
The place is decorated with pictures and artifacts showing the various tourism places of interest in Zimbabwe like the Chinhoyi Caves, Vumba Mountains, Hwange National Park, Chimanimani Mountains, Victoria Falls, Kariba Dam, Mangombe Falls and Mtarazi Falls among others.
During the official opening, Chamangira, who is also an avid farmer, church-goer, wholesaler and sportslover, took the same opportunity to shoot a documentary which he hopes to showcase at the ISAQ Awards in Switzerland as well as it his business ventures in Harare.
