Zimbabwe`s Winky was the man of the moment as he scooped every award in all the categories he was nominated,and was the winner of the night on the first ever Zim Dancehall awards which where held yesterday night at the Zimbabwe College of Music.
Winky D emerged the top winner as he took five awards namely best video,best performer,best male artist and an honourary award which made him the winner of the night.
He shrugged off competition from many upcoming artists such as Killer T,Soul Jah Love,Seh Calaz and many more.
It was on the song with social message where Winky D was made to share the award with an upcoming artist Jay C with.
Winky had Mafirakureva whilst Jay C had his song Positive meaning this category had a tie.
On the best performer Winky D outclassed Dadza D to emerge the victor.
Some other artists who went home with awards were Soul Jah Love and Cello Culture on the best collaboration with their song Minana.
Seh Calaz took home the best vocalist award in which he shrugged off competition from Jay C and Celcious.
Lady Squander took home the best female artist of the year being the only woman to take a dancehall award at the ceremony.
Freeman took home the best album award with his album New chapter,and his fellow artists under his Dangerzone Records Crystal taking home the best artist out side Harare award.
As Winky was the best winner of the night the worst loser of the night appeared to be Killer T.
who failed to take home even a single award despite having an impressive run in 2013.
