BUBBLING with confidence after their hard fought victory against Herentals fc in the Chibuku Super Cup quarter finals, beating the debutants 5-4 on penalties in a 1-1 stalemate after regulation time.
The troubled Harare giants Dynamos fc who are swimming in the relegation zone will this afternoon host their arch-rivals Caps United in a rescheduled Harare derby league match at Rufaro stadium.
This is the match which might decide the destiny of the ailing Harare giants, Dynamos. Lloyd Chigowe and his lieutenants, Murape Charles Murape and Richard Chihoro who were given room to stir the ship from that hot seat left vacant after the sacking of Lloyd Mutasa due to a serial of poor results, will be facing the Green Machine,Caps United.Caps are not consistent too, their performance is not all that convincing.
Their standard has declined,of which if Dynamos players up their tempo and give a 100% fight they might come out victors at the end of the day bringing hope and assurance to their multitudes of followers in the country and around the globe of staying in the top flight league.
The Dynamos coach is likely to field the same team that did duty against Herentals last Sunday in a cup game at the same venue,Rufaro.
The ever improving and impressive young Dynamos goalminder Simbarashe Chinani is likely to be given the nod between the sticks ahead of Blessing Mwanfimutsira. Chinani made two fantastic spot kick saves in the Chibuku Super Cup quarter finals that saw Dynamos making it to the semi final slot. The Dynamos skipper Marshal Machazane is expected to lead his troops from the back giving cover to his goalkeeper along side Jimmy Tigere, hard tackling Phakani Dube,James Marufu with the hard working Godfrey Mukambi is likely to maintain his new attacking role in the middle of the park alongside the off form Blessing Moyo who seem to have lost his touch.
Young promising Kudzanai Dhemere, former Triangle fc midfield genius Marvelous Mukumba who seem to have failed to click in the Dynamos colors,Gift Saunyama are likely to start in that midfield battle. The lanky former Harare City forward Kudakwashe Kumwala is likely to partner Quality Kangadze upfront ahead of the forceful forward Tawanda Macheke.
Dynamos are likely to miss the services of their key player Ocean Mushure and young Panashe Mutasa who are still yet to report for duty since a week or so with Denver Mukamba a doubtful starter.
Meanwhile,Caps United boost of a number of experienced players but the major concern and factor is,can their legs carry them and compete with young energic players or their legs are heavy and tired, although they say experience counts.
Players like the veteran versatile steely defender Method Mwanjali, has played in the top flight, locally and abroad for quite some time,he has seen it all. He is expected to give cover to their goal keeper Prosper Chigumba along side Steven Makatuka,Valentine Musarurwa and Kudzanai Nyamupfukudza with the tough Dominic Mukandi and Cabby Kamhapa likely to form a twin defensive role.
Joel Ngodzo and Skipper Hardlife Zvirekwi are likely to complete the midfield department for the Lloyd Chitembwe coach side.
The hard running John Zhuwawo and the former FC Platinum striker Brian Muzondiwa are likely to lead from the front.Caps United are seating on position 5 with 44 points a point ahead of the Bulawayo giants Highlanders and trailing Triangle by 3 points who are seating on position 4,therefor there is no room for Caps to drop points, any slip and Highlanders manage to win at Maglas against the Chinda Boys, Shabanie Mine fc they will leap frog Caps and swap positions whilst if Dynamos lose they will remain rooted on position 15 with 31 points but if they manage to win the derby they will escalate to position 11 thereby amusing 34 points.
Ironically, all eyes will be on Madinda Ndlovu the Highlanders fc coach, will he manage to brush past, inflict and condemn the Chinda boys, Shabanie Mine fc to the unfashionable league,Division One.The Chinda boys are anchoring the log standing with a paltry 18 points facing the dreaded chop.
Highlanders fc were knocked out of the prestigious lucrative Chibuku Super Cup quarter finals by the impressive Mark Harrison’s men Harare City 2-0 last weekend in Harare,Rufaro.
It is yet to be seen how Madinda’s men will perform at Maglas this afternoon. Madinda’s arsenal, coaching credentials and capabilities will be yet again tested as he face their bogey, tricky, cash strapped side Shabanie Mine fc at their favorable hunting ground Maglas Stadium.
The Shabanie Mine coach Alexio Sigion will be out to suffocate the Bulawayo giants and make sure they return to Bulawayo empty handed regardless of their poor form and the fact that they lost quite a number of players during the start of the season and mid season transfer window where they lost their prolific striker David Temwanjira who has since joined the Kariba based outfit ZPC Kariba fc. Maglas will always remain a lions den regardless of the home team’s current status. Highlanders’s only sole hope this season is to finish the league among the top four of which they need to be geared up for a rude awakening, points will not be rendered on a silva platter at Maglas, it will be a war.
Hence,Shabanie Mine’s chances of survival are very slim and to none, zero percent.
