Harare Zimbabwe. (News of The South) – Matabeleland region has been under developed since Zimbabwe attained its independence and people in this region blamed the former government which was led by retired president R G Mugabe of creating tribal lines during the time of his reign.
Now with the new president Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa , who is preaching a gospel of peace and development, he says Zimbabwe is open for business but there are still some people who, because of political conflicts are bringing down and delaying development and progress in other constituencies like in Bulilima East Constituency. This is a fast developing constituency in the region according to the survey that was done by some aspiring investors ,many dams have been constructed ,schools are built ,clinics are constructed with the engagement of the diasporians who are the residents of the communities and somes projects likes goats keeping, chicken, crop farming to mention a few.
The member of Parliament for the constituency Hon Mathias Siqhoza Ndlovu was quoted saying some councilors in the constituency are refusing to submit the projects proposals so that he gives them the Community Development Fund [CDF] which the government gave to all constituencies in March this year through the MPs for the purpose of developing the communities.’I visit around my constituency, I talk to the community and hear from them what types of projects they’re doing and I give them money to boost thier projects, but some councilors in Plumtree town are refusing to take the money and have so far turned away some donors who had a wish to support the communities’ sais Hon Mathias Siqhoza Ndlovu.
This writer visited some of the projects that are on going in the constituency the first one is at a community called Joshua Nkomo where there are ladies who are into poultry keeping and in ward 19 where there is a dam construction project where the Member of Parliament, Hon Mathias Siqhoza donated two hundred bags of cement.
