(News Of The South) – People who suffer from this surgical condition sometimes think its for life but its not , there are a number of them who have finally healed including the now founder and managing director of a newly formed organization known as Zimbabwe Ostomate Support Trust .
Joseph Muchesa who is the founder and managing director of this thrust fought this condition for years but is now a living testimony to say a lot about this.’ I couldn’t believe that one day I will separate with stoma bags , this haunted me for years but today I’m one of the healed and survived from this condition’ explained Muchesa. Zimbabwe Ostomate Support Trust was established in January 2017 and some board members include Alex Nyakunu ,Jimmy Chikange and Rachel Muchesa.
Since it was established , they have managed to help hundreds of people who are having this condition through the help of an American donor who managed to donate some accessories and money to pay medication for ostomates .’This condition needs to be treated with much care and the person should practice hygiene because once you are an ostomate you can’t feel like relieving yourself to the toilet, you can’t feel the call of nature waste matter comes out of your border on
its own through the tube’ explained Jimmy Chikange one of the board member.
Ostomate is therefore supposed to visit toilet as soon as he/ she feels the heat of the waste so that he offload to the toilet and clean the ostomy bag .Zimbabwe Ostomate Support Trust is based in number 713 Gainsville Drive GlenLorne in Harare and they have their website www.zimostomates.org
