Harare, Zimbabwe. (News Of The South ) – THIS is not an April fool’s day hoax for you.
This is reality, when men of the moment Jah Prayzah and his protégé Andy Muridzo descend on Spillway Pub and Restaurant in Norton this Saturday.
Situated along the Bulawayo Road and sitting on the shores of Manyame River, Spillway provides the perfect set-up and outing for lovers of fun, nature and lovebirds too as they are serenaded by two of the musical talents ever to emerge from Zimbabwe in recent years.
While the jokes about the hoaxes made on Fool’s Day will still be doing the rounds, giving the artistes something to lace their lyrics with, audiences will without doubt love the jokes while the aroma from the braais will mingle with the notes of good music in the air.
Jah Prayzah is an avid lover of nature, and his camouflage fatigues which have become part of his trademark do nothing to hide this. Andy, on the other hand, is also moving along a similar path with that of his idol Jah Prayzah and the duo will provide a formidable pact and combination which will see revellers bobbing, bouncing, gyrating, fox-trotting or tip-toeing, (you name it) to their music.
“Soja”, as Jah Prayzah is also fondly called in music circles, has a catalogue of hit songs that can take one on a tour of one of the world’s most populous countries, Japan and back without tiring of listening to his songs.
No wonder his songs have become hits which music lovers sing straight from the heart and mind as they do to the national anthem. National anthems indeed have these songs become considering how Jah Prayzah has helped to raise the Zimbabwean flag high beyond the country’s borders in places like the UK, South Africa among others.
His videos have also gained international recognition, not to mention his collaborations with foreign artistes.
It will be “Tsviriyo” all over the place when Jah Prayzah takes to the stage, and of course, there will be a huge dose of some of his popular songs like “Maria”, “Jerusarema” and “Mudhara Vachauya” among others.
If things go according to expectations, Jah Prayzah and Andy Muridzo must oblige their fans with at least some duets on stage, so as to add faggots to the performance.
Talking of Andy Muridzo and what immediately comes into the minds of many is the hit song “Dherira” which is receiving wide rotation in many circles.
Basking in the glory of a new album, Andy Muridzo is expected to prove that he is here to stay in the music game and is no push-over.
The show starts at 3 pm and runs till late at the lakeside resort which is known for its hospitality and touristic ambience.
